As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I attended the University of Minnesota where I received my BA in Psychology and then The Chicago School of Professional Psychology for my Master’s in Counseling Psychology. I have undergone training in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches. I currently see children and adolescents with various mental health challenges. In my work, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients and helping them develop the skills and insights necessary to lead a fulfilling and healthy life. Furthermore, I work closely with parents/guardians and value their participation in the treatment process.
My background working in mental health started during graduate school, where I was able to complete an internship at SOS Children’s Villages of Chicago. I was able to gain experience working with children and adolescents in foster care dealing with various mental health and interpersonal challenges, including, trauma, depression, anxiety, abuse/neglect, and family disruption. When I moved down to South Carolina I transitioned to private practice settings and was able to diversify my counseling skills. I gained significant experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, defiant/oppositional behaviors, and ADHD.
