Our topical support groups gather people who are facing the same challenges and circumstances to offer comfort, support, and encouragement in a group setting. People experiencing a traumatic event often become isolated in their grief and sadness. It can be hard to talk to others for fear of judgment. Often, those closest to us also do not know how to help or what to say, which can leave an individual feeling even more isolated and alone.
Support groups are a therapeutic way for people to join in a safe setting to discuss the challenges they are facing. Whether a person is struggling with the heavy burden of being a caregiver, coping with anxiety and depression, or have recently lost a loved one, gathering strength from those who are empathetic and understand the many different emotions you are experiencing allows us to speak the truth, be vulnerable, and open up to one another.
Groups draw support from individuals and offer a non-judgmental space where people can provide and receive constructive, helpful, and practical advice from those who have been there and understand what it is like. Hearing the feelings of others going through the same trials often makes our own problems seem less and can make us feel as if we are not alone.
Our topical support groups are led by support leaders and seek to help find solace by taking from the strength of others to support one another as Christ intended.
