Grief has been describe as having stages, but we don’t think of it that way. Grief is getter described as waves, or a ball of thread, with all of the emotions tangled together. Grief therapy is not about moving on, but about finding healthy ways to untangle the ball of emotion while gaining strategies to weather the waves when they wash over.
Although there are some common elements to grief, it is unpredictable, and because of that, you need someone to walk with you through it.
It can get better.
